I love the church where I grew up. I got saved and baptized there. However, it was somewhat reserved compared to the churches I’ve attended over the last 20 years.
The first time I went to a spirit filled church, it was Redemption World Outreach Center. I felt the Presence of God so thick that tears immediately started flowing. I couldn’t explain it but I remember saying to God over and over, “I KNEW THERE WAS MORE; I JUST KNEW THERE WAS MORE!” I joined RWOC the next Sunday and my life has never been the same!
The Benefits of Praising God
The first benefit of praising God, I experienced that day I went to Redemption World Outreach Center for the first time. It was feeling an intimacy with God; it’s a closeness that just can’t be explained. You have to experience it!
Since my first time of praising and worshiping God, I’ve experienced healings, deliverances and breakthrough time after time. It’s like God’s principle of sowing and reaping, you praise God and He turns around and blesses you!
The Battle of Jehoshaphat
One of the best examples of blessings resulting from praising God is the Battle of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles chapter 20. Jehoshaphat, one of the kings of Judah, was facing an impossible battle. Three armies, the Moabites, Ammonites, and Meunites, had joined together and were coming against him.
Jehoshaphat prayed and sought the LORD, and the LORD answered and said, “Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s,” (2 Chronicles20:15).
At the battle the next day Jehoshaphat and his men praised and worshiped God while He won the battle for them in a spectacular way. As they started to sing and give praises, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir and caused them to turn on each other and destroy one another.
The Spoils of Victory
But, That wasn’t the End of the Story… There are always spoils after a victory and it took Jehoshaphat and his men three days to collect the spoils from their victory because there was so much.
God never changes. He is still the same God that won the victory for Jehoshaphat so many years ago and when His people praise and worship Him today, He continues to win victories and leave spoils for His People.
